| Olcott Beach was founded by Burgoyne Kemp and was known as Kempville. However, a Thomas Olcott owned much of the property there and, sometime after 1820, had the hamlet named after himself. Olcott Beach has a full service marina, beautiful parks, interesting shops, good food and lodging, with a long tradition as a place for all forms of water recreation. Grand shade trees, lush greenery and the beauty of the Lake Ontario shoreline make Krull Park, on Route 18, the perfect setting for picnics and parties. The county park offers tennis courts, playground equipment, baseball and softball diamonds, a wading pool, swimming and beach front, public restrooms, basketball courts and fishing piers.
