    This is a school which specializes in natural resource topics and hosts thousands of students September through May who participate in field activities designed to teach conservation and modern forest management. Various adult special interest courses are offered on weekends. Seminars for UW credit are offered to teachers in summer, along with programs for the public. Tree seedlings and environmental-theme clothing and souvenirs for sale. Eagle River Historical Society located on grounds.
