Lac du Flambeau web page

Lac du Flambeau is a small town nestled deep in the heart of Wisconsin’s Northwoods and is the home of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Chippewa Indians. The French name means Lake of the Torches. The town got its name when fur traders saw the native people harvesting fish at night by torchlight. Visit us and you’ll find hundreds of pristine lakes with 10 on the main chain, lush forests, abundant wildlife, miles of snowmobile trails and four seasons of fun coupled with a Las Vegas styled casino. Lac du Flambeau truly deserves the distinction of being named one of Wisconsin’s finest vacation destinations.
