Phelps is nestled in the Nicolet National Forest. The town’s heritage is strongly Finnish and reflects the logging industry. It was originally known as Hackely, Wisconsin and was later renamed Phelps. Our community offers four season recreation for your enjoyment. There are Class A fishing Lakes, golfing, groomed snowmobile and cross country ski trails, as well as several areas to rest, relax, and enjoy the bounties of the great Northwoods.
